About The Position

Ashby is seeking a Junior Design Engineer to join their team. This role is unique in that it requires excellence in both design and coding, allowing individuals to combine their skills in design and technical implementation. The Design Engineer at Ashby works on a product used by over 100,000 weekly active users and collaborates with notable customers like Notion, Linear, Shopify, and Snowflake. The role involves tackling challenging design problems, enhancing the in-house design system, and consulting on bespoke design work for Product Engineers. Examples of past projects include redesigning the mobile web app, building flexible components for the design system, and improving information hierarchy for candidate assessment views.

Requirements

• No more than 2 years of industry experience as a designer or engineer.
• Projects (personal or professional) with at least a couple of users that showcase great visual taste and burgeoning talent in both UI/UX and Engineering.
• Good proficiency with TypeScript, React, and CSS.
• Ability to design and code.
