About The Position

This fully remote freelance/contract consulting role supports advanced AI training and evaluation initiatives. The Data Scientist evaluates AI-generated solutions to statistical, machine learning, and quantitative problems; develops rigorous evaluation tasks and datasets; and prepares verified reference answers. The work focuses on assessing analytical correctness, identifying flawed assumptions and methodological errors, and providing structured technical feedback to improve AI systems’ quantitative reasoning. Assignments may include technical evaluations, prompts, datasets, analytical tasks, reference solutions, and documentation. The role calls for independent problem-solving, analytical rigor, and clear written communication of statistical and machine learning concepts. Compensation is $150–$200 per hour, and 100 openings are listed. Previous AI training project experience is not required.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of Python for data analysis and computational problem-solving.
  • Experience using pandas or comparable data-processing and analytical tools.
  • Solid understanding of statistics, probability, and quantitative reasoning.
  • Familiarity with machine learning algorithms, modelling techniques, and analytical workflows.
  • Experience analysing datasets and interpreting quantitative results.
  • Understanding of experimental design, statistical testing, and analytical validation.
  • Ability to identify flawed statistical assumptions and methodological inconsistencies.
  • Strong programming skills relevant to implementing and reviewing analytical solutions.
  • Ability to explain statistical and machine learning concepts clearly in writing.
  • Strong mathematical reasoning, logical thinking, attention to detail, and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently and provide accurate, structured technical feedback.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of professional experience at an established technology, finance, or research company is preferred.
  • Recent relevant experience, including work completed within the past 3 years, is particularly valued.
  • Experience working with complex analytical problems in professional or research environments.
  • Candidates based in an English-speaking country are preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI model evaluation or technical benchmarking is advantageous.
  • Previous experience with AI training projects is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate AI-generated solutions to data science, statistical, and quantitative problems.
  • Assess the correctness and completeness of analytical methods, conclusions, machine learning approaches, and modelling decisions.
  • Identify flawed assumptions, computational errors, methodological weaknesses, and issues in quantitative reasoning.
  • Evaluate experimental designs, workflows, statistical testing, and interpretations of results.
  • Create technically rigorous prompts and datasets covering statistics, machine learning, and quantitative analysis.
  • Produce accurate reference solutions with clearly explained methods and calculations.
  • Document errors and weaknesses, and provide structured feedback explaining corrections and alternative approaches.
  • Review AI-generated technical explanations for clarity, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Maintain analytical rigor, consistency, and technical documentation across assigned deliverables.
