About The Position

The Junior Contract Support Specialist will provide comprehensive contract support for the Veterans Administration, performing federal routine contracting tasks. This includes federal acquisition planning, preparation of solicitations, proposal analysis, and post-award activities to support less complex government acquisitions. The role also involves assisting with the close-out of existing contracts, preparing portions of contractual documents, interpreting procurement regulations, policies, and directives to make recommendations to the contracting officer, and completing administrative duties as necessary. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field.
  • Coursework must have included at least (24) semester hours in any combination of the following fields: Accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
  • At least two (2) years of federal contracting experience.
  • Proficiency in programming software such as Google Suite/Drive and familiarity with various video-conferencing platforms.
  • Working knowledge of FAR and VAAR-based procurements.
  • Ability to understand technical content and communicate well with subject matter experts.
  • Ability to project and manage efficiently and balance shifting priorities.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform a range of standard and technical assignments to meet time-critical tasks and resolve recurring problems.
  • Capacity to work independently or as a contributing team member in a results-oriented environment; flexible and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare portions of less complex contractual documents, reading and interpreting basic procurement regulations, policies, and directives to make recommendations to the contracting officer.
  • Complete administrative duties as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
