About The Position

This opportunity is ideal for a junior Construction Coordinator / Supervisor looking to develop hands-on experience in construction coordination within challenging environments. In this role, you’ll contribute to delivering safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible outcomes, working closely with experienced field teams. Operating on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotational schedule in Yellowknife, you’ll help ensure projects meet performance, safety, and compliance expectations while building your experience on meaningful environmental restoration initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in construction coordination, supervision, or field operations
  • Diploma or degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (civil, environmental, or related discipline)
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to interpret drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in team environments
  • Ability to work in remote locations under extreme weather and site conditions
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and regulatory compliance in field environments
  • Adaptability and resilience in rotational work schedules (2 weeks on / 2 weeks off)

  • Exposure to mine closure, remediation, or environmental projects is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate daily construction and field activities on mine closure and environmental projects
  • Assist in monitoring contractor work to ensure alignment with safety, scope, and schedule requirements
  • Work with project teams to support safe execution in remote and extreme climate conditions
  • Track field progress, maintain documentation, and contribute to reporting
  • Promote a strong culture of health, safety, and environmental compliance
  • Identify and communicate field issues, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Contribute to successful project outcomes and environmental restoration efforts
