CACI is seeking a Junior CNC Machinist with a minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience. This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. However, this position is representative of positions within CACI that are consistently available. Individuals who apply may also be considered for other positions at CACI. The pay and benefits provided for this position will meet or exceed the minimum required amounts detailed in the wage determination issued by the Department of Labor and made applicable to this position, as incorporated into CACI’s government contract for the work location. Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience
  • Successful completion of machinist apprenticeship
  • Journeyman CNC Machinist qualification
  • Trade School certificate
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • DoD Secret Clearance or capability to be granted DoD Secret Clearance
  • Knowledge of Shop, Facility and Division Safety Policies and requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to design and build fixtures
  • CAM and Solid modeling CAD experience
  • Ability to operate a forklift

Responsibilities

  • Determine and perform appropriate set up of CNC Vertical machining centers for programs provided by CAM programmers
  • Program at the control to build fixtures and edit CAM generated programs using G and M codes
  • Select appropriate cutters and tool holders
  • Set-up and operate the full range of machine tools found in a well-equipped prototype development shop
  • Maintain dimensional accuracy, to specified tolerances that may be less than +/-.001", during machining processes, through the use of measuring instruments (e.g. vernier calipers, inside/outside & depth micrometers, gage blocks, surface and height gages, and dial indicators)
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Read blue prints and mechanical drawings
  • Apply knowledge of Mil-Spec and GD&T specifications
  • Work from verbal instructions and sketches
  • Perform machine shop math and trigonometry
  • Lift and maneuver objects weighing 80 pounds
  • Adhere to safety protocols
  • Check tools and equipment, and see their capacities are not exceeded; and that tools are kept in a safe working condition
