Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years machining experience, preferably Journeyman education.
  • Knowledge of operating principles and techniques of machining and related manufacturing processes.
  • Skill in planning and supervising a manufacturing operation.
  • Working skill in machine programming applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents (especially drawings) for content and accuracy.
  • Advanced blueprint reading such as tolerances, finish marks and geometrical tolerances.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with BobCatCAM programming software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Machining and assembly of SMI orders.
  • Monitoring and supporting customer order production to meet delivery times, quoted hours, and quality specifications.
  • Reporting on status and supporting the maintenance of all machine shop equipment.
  • Planning production of parts according to customer specifications, SMI procedures, and within planned time.
  • Full programming and operation of CNC machinery.
  • Interfacing with management to address and clarify production and customer requirements and issues.
  • Following work and equipment schedules, and updating procedures for equipment and system operations.
  • Machining customer parts as required.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of plans for improving operating efficiency/productivity.
  • Organizing the ongoing clean-up of the machine shop (5S).
  • Assuring non-conformances are reported.
  • Completing and maintaining reports as required.
