Requirements

  • 1-3 years purchasing experience or related manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to efficiently and creatively collect, research and analyze data to make decisions and solve problems
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Responds well to questions, with clear precise answers.
  • Participates regularly in meetings, communicating in a positive manner with all levels of personnel (written and oral)
  • Ability to work and communicate with remote locations and personnel
  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident) due to ITAR regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with ERP systems (Syspro, SAP, Oracle) and inventory management software required.
  • Understanding of ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations).

Responsibilities

  • Support actions to grow top line organically
  • Identify and implement initiatives to reduce costs - document and track results
  • Supplier on time
  • Supplier quality
  • Communication of supply issues to planning/production
  • Maintain purchase order dates, quantities, etc.
  • Place spot buys
  • Maintain leadtime in system
  • Make versus Buy decisions
  • MRB activity: rejections, RTV’s, reworks, Supplier notification
  • Invoice issues related to spot buys and contract pricing
  • Quoting
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of management
  • Hold yourself accountable, collaborate with your peers, be empowered to take action
  • Recognize your peers through company social media platforms
  • Have customer centric focus
  • Communicate clear expectations for product, delivery and quality requirements to suppliers
  • Maintain accurate delivery dates to communicate schedules, respond quickly to expedite or information requests to planning/operations
  • Suggest change in sources to support on-time, quality, cost reduction, customer on-time or other company objectives
  • Build relationships with suppliers
  • Negotiate various supply chain attributes
  • Make open suggestions for improvements in company practices, across all departments
