Junior Assistant (Part-Time)
About The Position
Living Room is a private membership club where creatives celebrate music, art, design, and culture. The Junior Assistant role is a high-stakes, hybrid position that serves as the foundation of our reputation for excellence. This role is a primary stepping stone toward Assistant Engineering, operating the facility through technical literacy, precision facility management, and high-touch hospitality. The Junior Assistant is expected to have a working understanding of the studio’s technical ecosystem, providing a layer of support that a standard Runner cannot. The role also serves as the primary backup for all studio operations, assuming Runner responsibilities when a dedicated Runner is not present.
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in DAW environments and analog routing.
- Previous experience in a recording studio environment is required.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
- Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and late-night sessions.
Nice To Haves
- Background in premium hospitality or high-end service is a significant plus.
- Working understanding of the studio’s technical ecosystem.
- Experience in Pro Tools and analog signal flow.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all rooms are technically prepared to the LR standard, possessing a deep knowledge of patch bay routing, DAW listener setups, and signal flow.
- Oversee the care and setup of world-class instruments, including Fazioli pianos and vintage synthesizer collections.
- Support the Assistant Engineer or Lead Engineer with technical tasks when a session demands it.
- Navigate the building with total discretion, adhering to strict "member-only" protocols and maintaining client privacy at all times.
- Anticipate the needs of the Engineer and Client alike, ensuring the creative team never has to break focus.
- Assume all Runner responsibilities (errands, craft service, and logistics) on shifts where a dedicated Runner is not present.
