Junior Accounting Analyst

About The Position

This role supports the month-end close process, analyzes manufacturing variances, and assists with inventory accounting. The Junior Accounting Analyst will maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, support standard cost updates, and prepare internal financial reports. This position also ensures compliance with internal controls, supports audit requests, and utilizes Syteline ERP for various accounting functions. Additionally, the role involves identifying and supporting process improvement initiatives within accounting and operations.

Requirements

0–2 years of relevant experience (manufacturing or cost accounting preferred)
Foundational knowledge of GAAP
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, basic modeling)
Strong attention to detail and analytical capability
Analytical thinking and problem-solving
Attention to detail and data accuracy
Ability to work with cross-functional teams (operations, supply chain)
Effective communication of financial information
Time management and ability to meet deadlines

Nice To Haves

Internship or experience in manufacturing or aerospace industry preferred
Experience with Syteline ERP or similar manufacturing ERP systems preferred

Responsibilities

Support month-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliation
Analyze manufacturing variances (labor, material, overhead) and provide actionable insights
Assist in inventory accounting, including cycle count analysis and inventory reserves
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts with a focus on inventory and cost accounts
Support standard cost updates and cost roll processes
Prepare internal financial reports and variance explanations for management
Ensure compliance with internal controls (including SOX, if applicable)
Support internal and external audit requests
Utilize Syteline ERP for transaction processing, reporting, and data extraction
Identify and support process improvement initiatives within accounting and operations
