About The Position

Capital Workforce Partners is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Junior Accountant to support our Finance team. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting grant compliance, and contributing to essential financial operations that help drive our mission forward.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (Associate degree + relevant experience considered)
  • 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
  • Experience in accounts payable or general ledger functions
  • Familiarity with accounting systems (MIP Fund Accounting a plus)
  • Exposure to payroll processing preferred
  • Nonprofit or grant-funded experience is a plus
  • Foundational understanding of GAAP principles
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving ability
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Proficiency with financial systems and reporting tools
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality

Nice To Haves

  • MIP Fund Accounting a plus
  • Exposure to payroll processing preferred
  • Nonprofit or grant-funded experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Process and code vendor invoices in accordance with organizational and grant requirements
  • Maintain accounts payable records and ensure timely payments
  • Reconcile corporate credit card statements and monthly bank accounts
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Support management of Service Provider (SP) and Individual Training Account (ITA) budgets
  • Ensure accurate coding across funding sources and cost centers
  • Maintain budget documentation and internal tracking
  • Process biweekly payroll based on approved HR data
  • Ensure accuracy of wages, deductions, and benefits
  • Maintain payroll records in compliance with internal controls and audit standards
  • Generate routine financial reports
  • Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, allocations, adjustments)
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and annual audit processes
  • Assist with documentation for internal and external reporting
