About The Position

Lenders Cooperative is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our dynamic accounting/finance team. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in financial services or technology industries. A strong foundation in financial reconciliations, GAAP accounting, proficiency in accounting software, and Microsoft Office Suite is essential. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for conducting everyday tasks such as recording transactions, organizing financial reports, and assisting with daily and monthly reconciliations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Accounting Associate or similar role.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or a relevant field
  • Local to the Mechanicsburg, PA Office, in the office at least 3 days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and process invoices, ensuring timely payments and accurate records.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable and accounts payable ledgers.
  • Perform reconciliations of all accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal and external reporting standards.
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
  • Performing routine accounting activities such as maintenance of the general ledger and preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports.
  • Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
  • Comply with financial policies and regulations.
  • Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and support audits as needed.
  • Prepare and present findings to management as required.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for discrepancies.
  • Performing administrative tasks as needed.
  • Support the accounting team with special projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Assist in preparing and filing tax returns and ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations.
