About The Position

The Junior Accountant is an entry-level member of the Accounting team responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting activities and maintaining accurate financial records. This position will assist with accounts payable, account reconciliations, general ledger activities, month-end processes, and other accounting functions as assigned. This role is designed for a recent graduate or individual early in their accounting career who is looking to develop practical accounting experience and grow their knowledge within a manufacturing environment.

  • Internship, co-op, or other relevant accounting experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with accounts payable, including invoice processing, payment preparation, and vendor account maintenance.
  • Assist with general ledger entries and routine account reconciliations.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Review accounting records and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Research and assist in resolving basic accounting discrepancies.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare basic accounting reports and schedules as requested.
  • Assist with bank and other balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support inventory and cost accounting activities as assigned.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests by gathering supporting documentation.
  • Work with other departments to obtain information needed to process and record financial transactions.
  • Maintain organized accounting files and records in accordance with company procedures.
  • Learn and utilize the company's ERP and accounting systems.
  • Provide general support to the Accounting team and take on additional accounting responsibilities as knowledge and experience develop.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
