About The Position

Goodwin is a private aviation technology company founded in 2022 and headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, with distributed talent across the United States. Its technology helps charter brokers manage client relationships, price trips, secure aircraft, and coordinate complex itineraries.

The Junior Accountant supports financial recordkeeping and day-to-day accounting operations, working closely with the Head of Finance. The role helps keep transactions organized, reconciliations current, company records accurate, and compliance activities on track. It also contributes to month-end close, recurring accounting processes, and improvements to finance operations as the company grows.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or operational accounting experience.
• Experience working in a remote, fast-paced business environment where priorities shift quickly.
• Proficiency with Excel and QuickBooks.
• Proactive, results-driven mindset and willingness to take ownership of work.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Record and categorize financial transactions accurately and promptly.
• Organize and maintain accounting records, financial documentation, and company files.
• Perform reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and help ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with Federal Excise Tax (FET) filings and payment preparation.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other day-to-day accounting activities.
• Help prepare information for month-end close and other recurring accounting processes.
• Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks, ERP systems, Excel, and other financial systems.
• Support special projects and accounting initiatives as the company grows.
• Help create better processes that make the finance team more efficient and scalable.
