About The Position

Healthy Kids is looking for an experienced, skilled, detail-oriented, self-starter to occupy the position of Junior Accountant for the company. This position will perform key functions in the finance department and report directly to the Finance Manager. Must love a fast-paced office and learning new things. Requirements

  • High School diploma required; Associates Degree in Accounting preferred.
  • 2 years’ experience in bookkeeping and/or Finance related experience required.
  • Knowledge of accounting including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Strong knowledge of excel to include VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and data visualization.
  • Experience with QuickBooks.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all third-party payer representatives as well as internal staff members including program staff.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs and data.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Enters data, generates billing, runs reports to verify information, prepare vouchers and send billing medium to appropriate funding sources.
  • Enters, maintains, and updates information regarding students and other relevant information necessary to complete billing and record transactions in QuickBooks.
  • Analyzes remittance advice to properly post.
  • Analyzes differences between billed and collected amounts and/or denials. Prepares adjustments as necessary.
  • Track denials and re-bills.
  • Follows up on all unpaid accounts on an ongoing and timely basis.
  • Prepares and completes daily deposits for all Healthy Kids accounts.
  • Takes deposits to bank or utilizes deposit machine in office to make deposits, if necessary.
  • Ad-Hoc duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.
