About The Position

The Junior Accountant provides foundational accounting support for the finance team at Atira Women’s Resource Society and its affiliated entities. This role assists with day-to-day accounting activities including transaction processing, rent revenue tracking for residential programs, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records. The Junior Accountant works under the guidance of the Intermediate Accountant to ensure timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions and support financial reporting requirements.

Requirements

Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum two (2) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
Technologically literate including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, and comfort working with digital systems and electronic documents in a fast‑paced office environment.
Experience with accounting software
Union membership is required (BC Government Employee’s Union - BCGEU)
Must be comfortable working in a harm reduction environment and supporting people who may be experiencing substance use and/or mental wellness challenges.
Must be inclusive and affirming of people of all genders, including transgender, Two-Spirit, intersex, transfeminine and non-binary individuals.
Must be sex worker positive.
