At MDI (part of Vitalus Nutrition), we turn milk into ingredients people rely on—so the numbers behind our Winnipeg plant need to be right, on time, and easy to act on.

As a Junior Accountant, you’ll partner closely with the Plant Controller to keep financial reporting accurate, support month-end and audit needs, and provide dependable cost and production insights that help the plant run smoothly.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant financial accounting experience (AR experience preferred).
• Strong Excel skills and comfort with accounting software; D365 (or similar ERP) is a strong asset.
• High accuracy, strong organization, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced plant environment.
• Professional discretion when handling sensitive financial and employee information.

• Working toward CPA is an asset.
• D365 (or similar ERP) is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for review.
• Support organized month-end/year-end close with solid documentation.
• Respond to audit requests with complete, accurate backup.
• Help maintain controls and reporting integrity for the plant.
• Process invoicing, AR reconciliations, inventory adjustments, and banking transactions accurately and on schedule.
• Complete statutory reporting (GST returns, PST self-assessments, Statistics Canada reporting) on time.
• Support standard cost updates and monthly transfer price maintenance.
• Contribute to budget prep and ad-hoc analysis that supports plant decisions.
