About The Position

BDO is seeking Junior Accountants to join their Assurance & Accounting team in their Greater Toronto Area offices (Oakville, Markham & Toronto) starting in October 2027. This is a new role focused on utilizing technical knowledge for client work, preparing financial statements and working papers according to regulatory standards, gathering evidence for engagements, and building client relationships. The role also involves participating in business development and communicating effectively with team members.

Requirements

  • Completed undergraduate degree or diploma and the necessary CPA pre-requisites.
  • Desire to provide outstanding client service and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Proven leadership skill and ability to take initiative to seek understanding.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical knowledge from courses to carry out work projects and assignments.
  • Prepare and complete working papers, financial statements, and notice to reader engagements per regulatory standards.
  • Gather evidence for Assurance and Accounting engagements.
  • Build positive working relationships with clients and effectively respond to requests and suggestions.
  • Participate in business development initiatives and identify new business opportunities with existing clients.
  • Effectively communicate with team members regarding progress updates and issues on an ongoing basis.
