About The Position

Cansel is seeking a driven and experienced Account Manager to join their sales team, focusing on Geospatial equipment. As one of Canada's largest Trimble resellers, Cansel offers a dynamic sales environment where success is rewarded. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surveying or related engineering fields, coupled with a proven sales aptitude. This role involves significant travel within the Greater Toronto Area, requiring at least one week per month on the road for client visits and demonstrations. Sales training will be provided, but a foundational understanding of the industry is crucial.

Requirements

  • Sales experience as a surveyor or in the Survey, Engineering (AEC), and/or IT industry.
  • Strong hunter mentality with a proven ability to generate new business and close deals.
  • Highly motivated, results-driven, and comfortable in a new business development environment.
  • Ability to identify, pursue, and convert net-new opportunities.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • An energetic, self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for selling in a competitive market.
  • Experience recommending, presenting, and selling products based on customer needs.
  • Initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, drive, and superb communication and computer skills.
  • Willingness to spend 40-60% of time on the road (locally and occasionally overnight) servicing and visiting customers.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and business savvy.
  • Driving license in good standing.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in a relevant field (Construction/Survey/Civil Engineering and geomatics/Information Technology) or equivalent, or a combination of experience and training.
  • Some experience in an outside sales role, preferably in the AEC and IT Industries.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRMs.

Responsibilities

  • Discovering leads and following industry market trends.
  • Performing sales presentations, on-site demonstrations, and cold calling within the assigned territory.
  • Maintaining and developing existing customer relationships through regular contact.
  • Providing excellent customer service to key accounts.
  • Meeting all sales target performance indicators.
  • Participating in trade shows, training events, and other related events.
  • Providing activity and new pipeline reports to the Sales Manager.
