About The Position

The Office of the Provost at Ithaca College, in partnership with the Department of Education, invites applications for the Julian Euell Future Faculty Fellowship for academic year 2027–2028. The College seeks an engaging teacher educator with expertise in Educational Psychology and/or a strong background in Special Education, TESOL/English Language Learning, or Social and Cultural Foundations of Education. Candidates should be committed to preparing reflective, culturally responsive educators and may bring a range of scholarly interests and teaching experiences. The one-year, non-renewable fellowship gives advanced doctoral candidates teaching experience and mentorship while they complete their dissertations. Fellows teach one course per semester, participate in scholarly forums, develop their pedagogical skills, and receive professional development to prepare for academic careers. The appointment runs from August 16, 2027, through May 31, 2028, at Ithaca College’s Ithaca, New York campus. Fellows receive a $43,260 stipend, $5,000 in travel and professional development support, relocation reimbursement, office space, health benefits, access to Ithaca College and Cornell University libraries, and a dedicated faculty mentor in their program. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited Ph.D. program at a U.S. institution, be authorized to work in the United States, and demonstrate a commitment to teaching at the college or university level, equitable classroom practices, and a scholarly agenda. Before August 15, 2027, applicants must have advanced to candidacy and have an approved dissertation proposal. Preference will be given to candidates in the final year of dissertation writing who are actively drafting and revising. Candidates who have demonstrated commitment to minoritized communities through teaching, service, and/or research are strongly encouraged to apply. Applications must include an unofficial transcript, a cover letter addressing teaching pedagogy and career interests, research agenda and dissertation completion timeline, and contribution to the chosen department’s curriculum; a CV; a proposed course syllabus; and contact information for two references. Applications should be received by November 15, 2026, for full consideration and are not complete until all materials are submitted. Visa sponsorship is not provided. Successful candidates must meet with union leadership before their first day. Employment offers are contingent upon review of a criminal background check.
