About The Position

The Office of the Provost at Ithaca College, in partnership with the Department of Computer Science, invites applications for the Julian Euell Future Faculty Fellowship for academic year 2027–2028. The fellowship is designed for an advanced doctoral candidate completing a dissertation while gaining meaningful college-level teaching experience and mentorship. Fellows teach one course per semester, either a topics course in their research area or an introductory course such as Foundations of Computer Science, Working with Structured Data, or Introduction to Web Development. Fellows also participate in scholarly forums, develop pedagogical skills, and receive professional development to support academic careers. The fellowship is a non-renewable, limited-term faculty appointment running from August 16, 2027, through May 31, 2028. Fellows receive a $43,260 stipend, $5,000 in travel and professional development support, relocation reimbursement, office space, health benefits, access to Ithaca College and Cornell University libraries, and a dedicated faculty mentor in their program. The role is based at Ithaca College’s campus in Ithaca, New York, and is a full-time, non-tenure-track appointment covered by the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Visa sponsorship is not provided. Applicants must be enrolled in a Ph.D.-granting program at an accredited U.S. institution, be authorized to work in the United States, and demonstrate a commitment to college-level teaching, equitable classroom practices, and a scholarly agenda. By August 15, 2027, applicants must have advanced to candidacy and have an approved dissertation proposal. Preference will be given to candidates in the final year of dissertation writing who would benefit from time to draft and revise their dissertation. Candidates with demonstrated commitment to minoritized communities through teaching, service, or research are strongly encouraged to apply. Applications should include an unofficial transcript, a cover letter addressing teaching pedagogy and career interest, research agenda and dissertation timeline, and contribution to the department’s curriculum; a CV; a proposed course syllabus; and contact information for two references. Applications should be received by November 15, 2026, for full consideration, and are not complete until all materials are submitted. Employment offers are contingent on a criminal background check. Successful candidates must meet with union leadership before their first day.
