Requirements

  • One year of experience performing a variety of clerical and support services to include typing, secretarial and administrative clerical work.
  • Ability to use a keyboard, no minimum speed.
  • US citizenship is not required.
  • Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations.
  • Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting.
  • All persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.

  • Proficient in TEAMS, Zoom, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Typing varied forms of information, including but not limited to minutes of informal hearings, conferences, trainings, and meetings; standard operating procedures, narrative statements, correspondence, memoranda, reports, and recommendations, which may be of a highly confidential nature.
  • Composing routine correspondence such as form letters or standard replies to inquiries.
  • Scheduling dates and/or times for meetings, trainings, or conferences, both in person and utilizing remote platforms.
  • Coordinating the Court Executive 2B’s calendar/schedule.
  • Overseeing the supplies for the Family Division.
  • Requesting needed information from internal and external customers.
  • Maintaining and updating internal records.
  • Performing paper and electronic filing of documents and correspondence.
  • Answering the phone and directing customers accordingly.
  • Creating and maintaining statistical spreadsheet data.
  • Taking the lead in special projects under the direction of the Court Executive 2B / Family Division Manager or designee.
  • Providing cross training.
  • Answering inquiries posed by court users.
  • Performing other related duties as required.
