About The Position

The New Jersey Judiciary is seeking a team-oriented individual for the Bergen Vicinage Probation Division’s Child Support Unit. This role focuses on providing exceptional customer service and clerical support under the direction of a Probation Division Manager or other supervisory personnel. The Judiciary offers a strong opportunity for growth and engages in meaningful work that impacts the public, including issues such as bail reform, marijuana decriminalization, and recovery court. Requirements

  • One year of experience performing a variety of clerical and support services.
  • Experience includes keyboarding and one or more of the following: document or information processing, handling payments for fees, recording monies received, reconciling balances or accounts and/or scheduling meetings or appointments.
  • Ability to use a keyboard, no minimum speed.

Responsibilities

  • Review new cases for required documentation and research case information in PCM.
  • Prepare, print, scan, upload, and maintain case files in NJKIDS and FileOnQ.
  • Process daily incoming and outgoing mail, including logging, scanning, distributing, and case-noting.
  • Manage Rightfax communications, FileOnQ, and closed-file records.
  • Maintain file room operations and retrieve files, court orders, and payment histories as needed.
  • Provide front desk coverage and general administrative support daily.
  • Schedule hearings, maintain calendars, and prepare/mail court notices.
  • Support court proceedings by requesting interpreters, moderating Zoom hearings, and utilizing CourtSmart.
  • Enter judgments, update case notes, run credit reports, and track court-related case activity.
  • Support the JOBS Program by contacting clients, entering case notes, and maintaining a log of court-referred cases.
  • Prepare reports, maintain logs, and assist with special projects and court-referred matters.
  • Perform related duties as required.
