About The Position

The Judicial Services Coordinator (JSC) will have extensive knowledge of Structured Sentencing and its application to Community Supervision, as well as knowledge of the Community Service Work Program. The JSC will demonstrate a working knowledge of local and regional community resources to facilitate the placement of monitored offenders with government and nonprofit agencies. This role requires effective oral and written communication skills to interact with the Judiciary, offenders, and the general public, ensuring accurate data collection, analysis, and utilization to interpret Division guidelines, policies, and procedures. The JSC must maintain a professional demeanor at all times, as this is a highly visible position within Community Supervision, and their actions reflect upon the entire Division. The position involves frequent court appearances and interaction with Judges, Attorneys, District Attorneys, Clerks of Court, Law Enforcement, and other professionals, necessitating the establishment and maintenance of effective working relationships. The JSC is responsible for planning daily work operations, setting priorities, scheduling, and establishing deadlines for their caseload, requiring exceptional time management, organizational skills, and the ability to perform under stressful situations. Experience in these areas must be clearly indicated in the application.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, human services, psychology, or related field of study from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Associate’s degree in criminal justice, human services, psychology, or related field of study from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in the court system, paralegal work, or other directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience in the court system, paralegal work, or other directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Structured Sentencing and how it applies to Community Supervision.
  • Knowledge of the Community Service Work Program.
  • Working knowledge of local and regional community resources to address the placement of monitored offenders to government and nonprofit agencies in the community.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with the Judiciary, offenders and the general public.
  • Ability to ensure thorough and appropriate collection, analysis and utilization of data to interpret Division guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to behave in a professional manner at all times.
  • Ability to plan daily work operations, set priorities, schedule, and establish deadlines for the caseload.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under stressful situations.
