About The Position

Monitors an extensive camera system that provides visual observation and monitoring of all Judicial Division buildings within Tarrant County, monitors the Judicial Emergency Notification System, and all departmental radio traffic throughout the Judicial Division. Monitors inmates in Judicial while being brought for Court. Handles all Dispatch functions for Judicial, Judges, and downtown Bike Patrol. DEPARTAMENTAL SO EMPLOYEES ONLY!

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One (1) full-time year of related experience.
  • Must possess a TCOLE Basic Jailer’s license.
  • Must be able to obtain a TCOLE Telecommunicator’s license within one (1) year of hire.
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver license.
  • Must be able to obtain TCIC/NCIC Full Access Operator certification within one (1) year of hire.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must have the ability to master software systems such as CAD, TCIC/NCIC, Microsoft Office, CLEAR, and TechShare.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to work well with others in a stressful environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors an extensive camera system that provides visual observation in a multi-grid layout for numerous County buildings.
  • Monitors the emergency notification system and radio communication systems.
  • Notifies the appropriate persons in case of emergency for County buildings.
  • Monitors and controls the movement of persons in and out of secured areas, which may include sally ports, holdover cells, inmate housing areas, public areas, restricted access elevators, private Judge’s garages, and loading docks.
  • Controls the security of the numerous County facilities.
  • Operates the security control system including monitoring, tracking, and logging of all inmate movement within the Judicial buildings.
  • Receives incoming phone calls and assists or forwards the calls to the appropriate person.
  • Receives, processes, and dispatches emergency/non-emergency calls for service.
  • Utilizes police radios to dispatch downtown bike patrol and communicate information during emergency situations.
  • Performs general office duties such as rosters, report paperwork, computer databases and equipment maintenance notifications.
  • Enters/clears CAD calls for service and enters service numbers for incidents.
  • Utilizes TCIC/NCIC to check the wanted status of subjects, confirms on wanted status, vehicle registration and insurance queries including confirming on stolen vehicles in the downtown area.
  • Compiles data for video open records requests.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
