About The Position

This position provides advanced courtroom and case management support by maintaining an accurate record of court proceedings, assisting judicial officers during hearings, and ensuring the efficient operation of courtroom activities. Responsibilities include preparing and processing court documents, managing case files, entering and updating case information in CourtView, scheduling hearings, reviewing filings for procedural compliance, processing judgments, warrants, summonses, and other legal documents, and responding to records requests. The incumbent serves as an arraignment case manager, supports court operations through quality control and data accuracy, assists with training and cross-functional assignments, and provides exceptional customer service to judicial officers, attorneys, justice agencies, court staff, and the public. The position requires adherence to court rules, statutes, and established procedures in a fast-paced environment, flexibility to work rotating non-standard schedules, extended hours, weekend or holiday duty, and occasional travel to outlying court locations as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate
  • One year of office clerical experience
  • Ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net)
  • Experience handling stressful situations with tact and diplomacy
  • Experience dealing with high-priority, confidential, or sensitive information
  • Experience or knowledge of legal procedures
  • Experience preparing professional documents and applying rules and regulations when processing documents
  • Experience performing multiple tasks with frequent interruptions and remaining calm, organized, and accurate
  • Experience working positively and productively in a team environment
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Level (50+ wpm) or expert level (60+ wpm) keyboarding proficiency
  • Keyboarding certification dated within one year showing a keyboarding speed of at least 40 words per minute (net)
  • Post-secondary transcripts, if using education to meet minimum qualifications
  • A list of three (3) professional references who have had supervisory authority over you, including your most recent supervisor, along with their daytime contact phone numbers and email addresses
