About The Position

The Denver County Court (DCC) is seeking a Judicial Assistant I to join the Criminal and General Sessions Division. This role provides excellent and impartial customer service to all who access the court via telephone, in person, and in writing. The Judicial Assistant I is responsible for creating and maintaining an accurate court record, clearly and effectively explaining complex legal processes to customers with various needs, and performing a variety of clerical functions. These functions include cashiering, fulfilling record requests, filing motions, delivering mail, and processing applications for community service and payment plans. The position also involves providing input on process improvement to coworkers and leadership.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • Two (2) years of clerical experience.
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Kindness, compassion, and a high regard for people
  • Experience with customer de-escalation and conflict management
  • Experience with electronic filing systems/databases
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Possess the ability to perform as an integral part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus (not required)
  • Commitment to public service/volunteer service a plus
