About The Position

Applications are being accepted for Part-time Judge Pro Tempore. The duties of this position include presiding over all phases of a broad range of misdemeanor criminal, civil traffic, and Town Code violation cases, as well as civil orders of protection and injunctions against harassment. The hourly rate is $50.00/hour, with a four-hour minimum when scheduled.

Requirements

• At least 30 years of age.
• Of good moral character.
• Admitted to practice law in the State of Arizona.
• Resident of the State of Arizona for the five years immediately preceding appointment.
• At least five years of criminal law experience or five years of experience as a judicial officer, or a combination thereof totaling five years of experience.
• Familiarize with the ethical restrictions on the practice of law while serving as a special judicial officer, Code of Judicial Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Preside over all phases of a broad range of misdemeanor criminal cases.
• Preside over all phases of civil traffic cases.
• Preside over all phases of Town Code violation cases.
• Preside over civil orders of protection.
• Preside over injunctions against harassment.
