About The Position

Valiant is seeking a JRTC Role Player to support Military Augmentees, Opposing Forces, and Special Forces in scripted and unscripted roles. Roles may include portraying local population members, police, or Host Nation Security Forces. The work takes place in outdoor, field-type environments with limited services and austere conditions, and requires wearing replicated uniforms and associated equipment. Role Players use military forms and maps, communicate via mobile radio, and maintain assigned equipment and vehicles. They must be able to use a computer and smartphone for blogging, texting, and other social media applications. The position requires working scheduled day and night shifts, potentially irregular shifts of up to 16 hours, and traveling unaccompanied within the continental United States and foreign countries. Work is performed in support of the Joint Readiness Training Center at Fort Polk.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to work on the Fort Polk Military Installation.
Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office programs.
Proficient with computers and smartphones, blogging, texting, and other necessary social media applications.
Able to be instrumented using MILES or IPDD systems in accordance with JRTC needs.
Able to speak clearly and calmly while using radio communication systems.
Able to perform routine foot patrols over several hours.
Able to work irregular shifts of varying lengths, up to 16 hours as required by the JRTC.
Able to travel unaccompanied within the continental United States and foreign countries.
Valid Louisiana State Driver’s License or equivalent from another state.
Must submit to and pass pre-employment drug screening and be subject to random drug screening.
Good physical condition and able to stand for prolonged periods, walk up to two miles over uneven terrain, and lift and carry up to 45 pounds.

Responsibilities

Use military forms and maps and communicate using mobile radio systems.
Supervise and perform maintenance on assigned equipment and vehicles.
Use computers and smartphones for blogging, texting, and other social media applications.
Train in and use military map-reading and communications procedures, including the phonetic alphabet, call signs, and acronyms.
Perform routine foot patrols and walk between villages and towns while carrying assigned equipment.
Work day and night shifts and irregular shifts as scheduled by the JRTC.
Travel unaccompanied throughout the continental United States and foreign countries.
