About The Position

AV Inc.’s PRIME contract is seeking a Software Engineer 0 to join a software development team that develops and sustains integrated, feature-rich capabilities to modernize visualization and presentation tools. The team develops and supports applications that enable mission analytic users to view existing data and contribute new information in a collaborative environment. This role may focus professionally on UI development or be a full-stack software engineering role with an interest in UI development. The position is performed at a contractor facility in Annapolis Junction, with both low- and high-side access. Potential telework is available. An active TS/SCI with polygraph is required. The position also requires documentation verifying U.S. person status under ITAR and/or EAR; some positions may require current U.S. citizenship due to contract requirements.

Requirements

Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university; four years of software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may substitute for the degree.
Knowledge of Java and Python.
Experience with unit testing using JUnit.
Experience with source code control, specifically Git.
No demonstrated experience is required.

Responsibilities

Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
Debug existing software and correct defects.
Recommend improvements to documentation and software development process standards.
Design and code new software or modify existing software to add features.
Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
