Jr. Software Engineer
About The Position
AV Inc.'s PRIME contract is seeking a Software Engineer 0 to join a software development team developing and sustaining integrated, feature-rich capabilities that modernize visualization and presentation tools. The team develops and supports applications that help mission analytic users view existing data and contribute new information in a collaborative environment. The role may focus professionally on UI development or may be full stack, with an interest in supporting UI development. Work is performed at a contractor facility in Annapolis Junction, with both low- and high-side access and potential telework.
Requirements
- No demonstrated experience is required.
- Proficiency with Java and Python.
- Experience with unit testing using JUnit.
- Experience with source code control, specifically Git.
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university, or four years of software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes as a substitute.
Responsibilities
- Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
- Debug existing software and correct defects.
- Recommend improvements to documentation and software development process standards.
- Design and code new software or modify existing software to add features.
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
- Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
