About The Position

The Jr. Paint Process Technician is responsible for verifying that all Paintwork cells are set-up, processes are running correctly, and takes corrective action when needed. Assist in the training of other Jr. Paint Process Technicians. Additional responsibilities include the mixing and maintenance of paint and solvent supplies, obtaining or creating set up sheets for new colors of paints and monitoring of daily production in order to produce quality parts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
  • Able to use Microsoft word and Excel also move access UKG and corner stone (vacation requests, required on-line classes, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate and maintain effective relationships.
  • Ability to take initiative and work with a group of three or more.
  • Comfortable with constant manual dexterity and movement of hands and wrists.
  • Comfortable with making color calls visually.

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory controls as needed.
  • Train new Paint Set-Up personnel.
  • Mix and maintain paint and solvent supply.
  • Mix paints according to process standards.
  • Fill paint containers as needed (prior to running out).
  • Assist in receiving and shipping of paints and solvents.
  • Report low inventories of paint and solvent to Paint Process Engineer.
  • Rotate paint and thinner inventories with the receipt of each new shipment.
  • Verify production processes and equipment setup.
  • Verify that set-up parameters are set correctly.
  • Assist in taking inventory.
  • Label all dirty solvent per OSHA standards and ensure that no dirty solvent is older than 90 days. Dispose of dirty solvent prior to 90th day using established procedure.
  • Obtain or create set up sheets for new colors or paint along with proper pump assignments (with backups) and notify Paint Process Engineer of any process changes or revisions that may be necessary.
  • Assist in production as needed.
  • Conduct daily paint usage inventory.
  • Manage and maintain Line set.
  • Upload paint schedule to load deck.
  • Add or remove racks and carriers through turns as needed by schedule.
  • Communicate all rack shortages and communicate with tech team on schedule changes.
  • Complete line set at end of work week for Monday start up.
  • Pull racks and stage for burn-off as needed based on paint build up and ability to load and unload.
