About The Position

Novva is seeking a Junior Mission Critical Engineer to join its Data Center Mission Critical team. The role is part of the team responsible for operating and maintaining critical systems in Novva’s data centers. Candidates should have experience in diverse industries such as electrical generation, electrical distribution, cooling technologies, and fire protection systems. Day and night shifts are available. The position is hourly, with 12-hour shifts from 6 to 6 in a rotating 2-on, 2-off, 3-on, 2-off pattern.

Requirements

Ability to follow established processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be a self-starter.
Knowledge of general industry technologies and systems, including UPS, generators, and mechanical systems.
Ability to multitask and meet multiple demands.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Data center industry experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular walkthroughs of the data center to assess system health and alerts.
Oversee mission-critical infrastructure outside normal business hours.
Monitor and respond to alerts from system-monitoring tools.
Identify critical system issues with large-scale impact and escalate them.
Provide timely resolution and/or escalation of facility and customer issues.
Provide local access and escort vendors and carriers.
Provide support to internal teams.
Handle work orders and preventative maintenance.
Monitor the command center.
Track all work through a ticketing system.
