About The Position
The Jr. Manufacturing Engineer helps improve manufacturing systems through new tool designs and process updates. Working closely with Manufacturing Engineers, this role develops process improvements to increase productivity and reduce non-conformances. The position conducts tool design and documentation and coordinates with Manufacturing Engineers, quality engineers, and shop floor personnel to understand company operations. It also supports continuous improvement activities and new product introduction.
Requirements
- Intermediate personal computer skills.
- Fluency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of basic machining operations and machine types.
- Familiarity with metal-forming operations.
- Knowledge of welding.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college, or equivalent experience.
- Engineering-related internship experience.
- Familiarity with machining, assembly, and quality processes.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the design of manufacturing tools and machining fixtures.
- Analyze current manufacturing operations and process data.
- Participate in reviewing improvement operations and work with shop floor personnel to identify root causes.
- Support new product introduction through tool design and creation of manufacturing planning documentation.
- Act as a liaison with the shop floor to gather data and assist with quality improvement opportunity implementation.
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineers, CNC Programmers, and management to discuss current operations and future-state goals.
- Communicate project status and needs to various departments.
- Assist Manufacturing Engineers, quality, tooling, and operations personnel in understanding issues affecting the company.
- Participate as a team member in continuous improvement initiatives and Kaizen events.
- Support continuous improvement activities and new product introduction.
