Davidson Technologies Inc. is seeking a Jr. Kinematic (Threat Modeling) Systems Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Threat Modeling Center (TMC) develops and delivers high-fidelity threat modeling products in support of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and its Missile Defense System. The Kinematic Systems Engineer works with a group that generates kinematic output data for simulated missile trajectories, delivered in Integrated Threat Products (ITPs) to Department of Defense customers—primarily the MDA—to drive the threat portion of their simulations. ITPs may be produced and delivered on timelines ranging from one day to six months, requiring flexibility, requirements identification, and time management. The engineer applies knowledge of threat countries’ capabilities, preferred Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs), and strategic objectives to specific scenarios. From the adversary’s perspective, the engineer assigns missiles from a country’s Order of Battle to targets and assigns warheads to missiles to meet training or engineering objectives. The engineer processes results into an end-to-end threat attack laydown file and generates simulated missile-trajectory data. These products are provided to U.S. missile defense activities and select foreign countries for simulations analyzing missile defense system performance and effectiveness. The role includes reviewing customer scenario requests and identifying potential issues before production, reviewing final documents and data to verify customer objectives and specifications, generating kinematic trajectories with the TMC Threat Modeling & Simulation Suite (TMSS), and troubleshooting products and data. The group works closely with TMC systems engineering and software development teams because many of its tools are developed in-house. Travel of up to 10% may be required to support business needs.
