About The Position

NTT DATA Federal Services is seeking an entry-level Business Analyst to support federal government clients in documenting business requirements, analyzing processes, and assisting with technology modernization initiatives. The role is intended for recent graduates or early-career professionals developing expertise in business analysis, stakeholder engagement, and IT project delivery in a federal consulting environment. The analyst will help gather and document requirements, analyze and report on data, support Agile project activities and User Acceptance Testing, and prepare project communications and documentation. The role also uses AI-powered tools to support analysis and documentation, with responsibility for validating generated outputs for accuracy and business alignment. The position is hybrid and based in Rockville, Maryland. In-office attendance may be required for meetings or events depending on business needs and client requirements.

Requirements

At least 5 years of professional experience in business analysis, project coordination, operations, consulting, internships, or related fields.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Public Administration, or a related field.
Basic understanding of business process analysis and process improvement concepts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Ability to analyze information, identify issues, and propose solutions.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment.
Internship experience supporting government, consulting, technology, or business operations projects.
Hands-on experience with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Jira AI, Confluence AI, Copilot Studio, or Power Automate for business analysis, task automation, or productivity.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Confluence.
Exposure to SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or other reporting tools.
Knowledge of federal government operations or regulations.
Relevant coursework or certifications such as ECBA, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Agile Fundamentals, or Business Analysis Fundamentals.

Responsibilities

Assist in gathering, documenting, and validating business and functional requirements.
Participate in stakeholder meetings, workshops, and interviews to capture business needs.
Support the creation of business process flows, user stories, use cases, and requirements documentation.
Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting to support business decisions.
Collaborate with project managers, developers, testers, and client stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Support Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily standups, and retrospectives.
Help track project requirements, risks, issues, and action items.
Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test case creation, execution, and defect tracking.
Prepare meeting minutes, status reports, presentations, and project documentation.
Support change management, training, and user adoption activities.
Use AI-powered tools to support requirements gathering, user story creation, process analysis, documentation, and stakeholder communications, and validate AI-generated outputs for accuracy and business alignment.
