About The Position

Lyten is seeking a Jr Buyer Intern to ensure the supply chain of manufactured parts, assemblies, weldments, and commercial components aligns with Engineering project schedules. This role involves accurate communication with various departments regarding project status. The intern will gain experience in supplier onboarding, request for quotes, purchase order management, and expediting late deliveries, while keeping the ERP system updated. They will also collaborate with the Procurement team on special projects and process improvements.

Requirements

Completion of Sophomore year in Business Administration or Supply Chain.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Eager to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Strong willingness to learn and be a team player.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills to work with other employees and vendors.

Responsibilities

Ensure alignment of supply chain of manufactured parts, assemblies, weldments, and commercial components with Engineering project schedules for accurate communication with various departments on project status.
Onboard new suppliers as needed.
Send out Request for Quotes (RFQ) to suppliers to identify best price and lead time.
Place and manage Purchase Orders (POs), confirming and tracking delivery dates.
Expedite late deliveries and keep the ERP system updated with current supplier delivery dates and supplier notes.
Collaborate with the Procurement team on special projects and process improvements.
