About The Position
As a Journeyperson Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, your care and attention to detail will ensure that our guests have a memorable stay in the Canadian Rockies. This role is responsible for all HVAC related trade work at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, including the installation, repair, and maintenance of all HVAC equipment, as well as preventative maintenance. The position requires ensuring all work complies with federal and provincial codes and regulations, maintaining power tools, and accommodating a flexible work schedule. Additionally, the role involves training and assisting shift maintenance colleagues, supporting other trades related to HVAC, and communicating effectively with guests and colleagues. Adherence to hotel vehicle handling and safety policies, embracing the Fairmont brand promise, and fostering an inclusive environment are also key aspects of this position. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Provincial Journeyperson Certificate issued by the Province of Alberta or Red Seal Endorsement is required.
- Maintenance experience of HVAC equipment is required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Windows applications required (Word, Excel & Power Point)
- Valid Alberta driver’s license required
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.

Responsibilities

- Responsible for all HVAC related trade work at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
- Responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of all HVAC equipment
- Preventative maintenance of equipment pertaining to HVAC
- Ensure all work done in the HVAC department is in compliance with federal and provincial codes and regulations
- Ensure all power tools are in good and safe working conditions
- Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule based on volume of business
- Train and assist the shift maintenance colleagues
- Assist other trades as they relate to HVAC maintenance
- Communicate effectively and professionally with both guests and colleagues
- Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles
