Boeing Defense is currently looking for an Air Conditioning Mechanic A in Ridley Park, PA to join their team. This role involves laying out, constructing, installing, and rebuilding refrigeration and air conditioning equipment for plant facilities. The mechanic will perform work described in other maintenance classifications when incidental but necessary to the accomplishment of the assignment. Responsibilities include reading and making control adjustments using typical testing equipment, installing and adjusting valve controls, and performing electrical wiring and installation of special electronic controls for regulating and controlling refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. The position also requires repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and adjusting all existing types of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment (production and building), and maintaining necessary temperature and service records. A critical requirement is maintaining the required government and Boeing required EPA Universal Refrigerant Technician Certification, Lock out/Tag out equipment and related systems, as required. The role involves visually inspecting equipment, power sources, wiring, plumbing, electronic components, and systems for defects or maintenance problems. The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Must possess a Universal EPA Certification, which is a type of technician certification required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under Clean Air Act Section 608 to handle, service, maintain, or dispose of refrigerants in air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
