About The Position

Thyssen Mining is currently seeking Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics for one of our projects located in Ontario. This is a fly in/fly out position operating on a 14 x 14 schedule (2 weeks on 2 weeks off). Nice To Haves

Experience working on underground mining equipment is an asset but not required

Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot, maintain, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, mechanical power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, programmable logic controls and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
Participation in the preparation of procedures and following of procedures in the course of their work
Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications.
Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools.
Diagnose faults or malfunctions using testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment.
Diagnose faults or malfunctions using testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
Facilitate and lead a safe work culture.
Track and find parts.
Service attachments and working tools.
