About The Position

This position is for a Journeyperson Electrician in the DMMI Maintenance - Radiator department. The core hours for this role are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. A resume is required for consideration. The associate will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repairs, replacements, and rebuilds of various equipment as detailed in the requirements. Associates must meet approximately 75% of the job requirements at the time of bid and demonstrate the ability to meet the full scope within one year.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Must be a Machine Repair or Electrician Journeyperson (as recognized by the Department of Labor) or have 5 years equivalent Machine Repair or Electrician experience working with a recognized Machine Repair or Electrician Journeyperson.
  • Review of safety hazards unique to the position.
  • Be able to go online with HMI/PLC, Servos, Robots, and Vision Systems.
  • Basic understanding of programs, software, and editing for HMI/PLC, Servos, and Robots.
  • Upload and download programs for HMI/PLC, Servos, and Robots.
  • Troubleshoot HMI/PLC, Servos, and Robots.
  • Search for and create program backups for HMI/PLC and Servos.
  • Make teach point adjustments for Robots.
  • Perform basic programming and editing for Robots.
  • Have basic knowledge of component replacement procedures for Robots.
  • Understand software types and basic use for Robots.
  • Understand vision inspection systems and components.
  • Understand basic program concepts for vision systems.
  • Upload and download vision system programs.
  • Understand concepts of Core Assembly machines.
  • Understand the basic process of making cores.
  • Identify key components of Core Assembly machines.
  • Able to replace and program temperature controllers for Furnaces.
  • Able to troubleshoot / Repair heater circuits for Furnaces.
  • Basic inverter operation for Furnaces.
  • Gas burner & gas apparatus & controls for Furnaces.
  • Modutrol motor operation & Igniter controls for Furnaces.
  • Thermocouples diagnosis for Furnaces.
  • Interpret pressures and vacuum for Furnaces.
  • Operate and home equipment for Furnaces.
  • Shut down and start up procedure for Furnaces.
  • Understanding Hydraulic system for Presses.
  • Operate and home Presses.
  • Understanding pneumatic system for Presses.
  • Understanding pascal clamps for Presses.
  • Last Performance Appraisal Meets or Better.
  • No Active Written Discipline.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years with DMMI or at least a minimum of 6 months in current position to 1st shift plant wide if posting for the first time since external hire unless promotable.
  • Length of service (LOS) for journeypersons who have successfully completed DMMI's apprenticeship training program and are posting within the skilled trades area, will be based on the date of entry into the apprenticeship training program.
