About The Position

This position is for a Journeyperson Electrician in the DMMI Maintenance department, specifically for Molding / Systex Products Corporation (SPC), Dept. 260. The role is primarily onsite at Systex (SPC) with potential rotation to DMMI. The core working hours are from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. A resume is required for consideration. Associates must meet approximately 75% of the job requirements at the time of bid and demonstrate the ability to meet the full scope of job requirements within one year.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Must be a Machine Repair or Electrician Journeyperson (as recognized by the Department of Labor) or have 5 years equivalent machine repair or electrician experience working with a recognized Machine Repair or Electrician Journeyperson.
  • Review of safety hazards unique to the position.
  • Be able to go online with HMI/PLC, Servos, and Robots.
  • Basic programming / Editing for HMI/PLC.
  • Upload / Download for HMI/PLC, Servos, and Robots.
  • Troubleshooting / Search for HMI/PLC, Servos, and Robots.
  • Create program backups for HMI/PLC.
  • Perform motor and cable replacements on robots.
  • Perform controller replacement on robots.
  • Climb out on robots to repair using a 5-point harness.
  • Experience with Injection molding machines.
  • Experience with N2 testers, Function testers, Motor press, and Fan balance.
  • Must understand DMMI lifting procedures.
  • More than 2 years in current position unless promotable (length of service for journeypersons is based on apprenticeship entry date).
  • Last Performance Appraisal Meets or Better.
  • No Active Written Discipline.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, repair, replace, or rebuild items as listed in the requirements.
  • Go online with HMI/PLC, Servos, and Robots.
  • Perform basic programming/editing, upload/download, and troubleshooting for HMI/PLC.
  • Troubleshoot/search for HMI/PLC programs and create program backups.
  • Upload/download and troubleshoot/search for Servos.
  • Upload/download and troubleshoot/search for Robots.
  • Perform motor and cable replacements on robots.
  • Perform controller replacement on robots.
  • Climb out on robots to repair using a 5-point harness.
  • Work with Injection molding machines.
  • Operate N2 testers, function testers, motor press, and fan balance equipment.
  • Understand DMMI lifting procedures for rigging.
