The successful candidate must be able to construct, install, and repair structural wood and/or related materials in an accurate and safe manner. Experience in a commercial and/or petroleum construction setting is an asset. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual who is organized, able to multi-task well, and has effective time management skills. Requirements

  • A Team Attitude - ability to follow directions and take guidance
  • Strong Safety Acumen - being safety conscious is a must, and adherence to all Health & Safety Policies and Procedures is mandatory
  • Strong Communication Skills - you will be working closely with the Site Superintendent, Foreman, Lead Hands, and other team members
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings and accurately interpret complete calculations
  • Flexibility - must be able to work out of town as required
  • Your own vehicle - must have a reliable means of transportation
  • Red Seal Journey Person or equivalent is preferred; relevant experience and related tickets will be considered

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a commercial and/or petroleum construction setting is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling materials (wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, etc.) using hand tools, power tools, and machinery
  • Installing frameworks, such as walls, floors, doorframes, and roof systems
  • Fitting and installing trim, windows, doors, staircases, molding, and hardware
  • Building foundations, laying subflooring, and erecting structures
  • Inspecting and repairing damaged frameworks or fixtures
