About The Position
Tradesmen International is immediately hiring experienced Journeyman Welders for projects located in the Greensburg, PA area. This is a first shift opportunity, and the pay rate is $28-37/hour based on experience and skill level. Responsibilities
- Read complex industrial sketches, schematics, engineering layouts, and canonical weld symbols
- Assemble, align, and secure metal workpieces using custom-built jigs and fixtures
- Master oxyacetylene torches, plasma arc cutters, and air carbon arc gouging tools
- Operate angle grinders, bandsaws, shears, punches, and defect-testing instruments
- Maintenance and tuning of voltage, wire feed speed, gas flow (CFM), and machine components
- Join metals using a continuous solid wire electrode fed through a welding gun
- Deliver precise, high-quality welds on thin materials like stainless steel, aluminum, and titanium
- Utilize consumable electrode rods (such as 6011 and 7018) for outdoor or heavy structural work
- Maximize deposition rates on thick steel plates using a hollow, flux-filled wire
- Operate automated, high-production machinery under a blanket of granular flux
