As our Welder you will be responsible for the safe maintenance of our 5,000 HP Shredder. This role is based out of Edmonton, AB working 7am to 4pm. Overtime and Saturdays as required. This position must also adhere to our safety program and work as a contributing member of the site team.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Welder from a recognized provincial training authority
  • Experience in Theromo Lancing and FCAW Welding
  • Air arc and stick welding repair experience is required
  • A minimum of 5-10 years’ previous experience in a similar role
  • Complete safety documentation in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, and moving containers and other heavy materials
  • Ability to communicate effectively and express thoughts and ideas in a clear manner
  • Physically fit, able to lift 50 pounds, and able to work on feet for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in confined spaces

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Fork Lift, Man Lift, Telehandler and Overhead Crane would be an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and inspection of shredders.
  • Performing the safe operation of tools and related equipment for the purposes of welding and fabrication.
  • Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
  • Recognize defective welds, know the cause, and repair procedure for the defective area.
  • Fuse metals safety and effectively use prescribed welding applications.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with industry quality and production standards.
  • Helping with facility maintenance and clean-up as required.
  • Cleaning and performing preparation of work-sites for safe operation of equipment.
