About The Position
Pape’ Machinery, Inc.’s Construction & Forestry Division is seeking a Journeyman Shop Technician to work on construction and forestry equipment in the shop in Fremont, California. The technician ensures repairs are completed accurately and on time to support customers and maximize equipment uptime. As a journeyman, the role includes taking on difficult repair jobs and working alongside other trained technicians in a well-resourced shop. Pape’ offers training, resources, and support intended to help technicians develop their skills and careers.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience diagnosing and repairing all makes and models of new and used heavy equipment.
- Team-oriented personality, with the focus and drive to work without direct supervision.
- Discipline and skill to complete a technical diagnostic and repair training program.
- Must provide own tools.
- Ability to operate a lift truck and other heavy equipment; training will be provided.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair construction and forestry equipment in the shop.
- Ensure equipment repairs are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Take the lead on difficult repair jobs.
- Work alongside other trained technicians to support customers and maximize equipment uptime.
