About The Position

UPS is seeking a reliable Temporary Journeyman Technician to join its fleet maintenance team in Romoland, California. The technician will maintain a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. Equipment may use diesel, gasoline, or alternative propulsion technologies, including compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electric power plants.

The role involves troubleshooting and maintaining systems such as hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls. The posting lists workdays as Monday through Friday and a shift duration of 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The work location is 1457 E. Victoria Ave, San Bernardino, CA 92408. The position is seasonal.

Requirements

• Current documented automotive mechanical experience.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and a personal computer.
• Possess a full complement of personal hand tools.
• Be dependable and able to report to work regularly and on time.
• Be available to work varying shifts, additional hours, and/or overtime depending on service needs.
• Meet the applicable U.S. citizenship or work authorization requirement.

Nice To Haves

• Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Responsibilities

• Maintain delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers.
• Troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.
• Meet D.O.T. requirements applicable to the job assignment.
• Operate standard and manual transmission vehicles.
• Operate power and pneumatic tools.
• Wear personal protective equipment as required.
• Report to work regularly and on time and complete scheduled workdays consistently.
• Work cooperatively in a diverse work environment and communicate effectively to perform assigned tasks and maintain job safety.
