Journeyman Mechanic – Lead 3 – Swing Shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM)

About The Position

Oak Harbor Freight Lines is seeking experienced mechanics ready to take the next step into a Lead 3 role and help drive shop performance. The company has provided regional trucking services across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and California for 110 years. The position works the swing shift, from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. The company provides tools for the role. Candidates must complete pre-employment drug screening and a background check.

Requirements

Ability to demonstrate strength, stamina, and attention to detail.
Strong technical knowledge and years of experience.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Nice To Haves

Proficiency in air brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and ABS brake systems.
Prior experience with a variety of hand tools.
Welding or fabrication experience.
A CDL license.

Responsibilities

Review and address written reports and verbal complaints from drivers regarding equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
Test equipment and systems to assess performance and identify issues.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic tools and software to determine necessary repairs.
Repair brakes, electrical systems, and other critical components as needed.
Replace worn or damaged parts to maintain equipment integrity.
Document repairs, maintenance activities, and disciplinary or accountability-related concerns as required.
