About The Position

IES Residential is seeking an experienced Journeyman Electrician to perform electrical installation, service, troubleshooting, and repair work while providing day-to-day leadership to assigned crews. This position helps coordinate field activities, maintain productivity, and ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project requirements and applicable electrical codes.

Requirements

  • Previous Journeyman-level electrical experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installations, troubleshooting, and applicable codes.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and project specifications.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Journeyman Electrician license or certification required where applicable.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass applicable pre-employment screenings.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work in elevated or confined spaces.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying jobsite conditions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Ability to work overtime or modified schedules as business needs require.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future need for employer sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience leading or directing electrical crews preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee electrical installation, service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Lead and provide daily direction to electricians, apprentices, and helpers.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications, and electrical drawings.
  • Coordinate daily work assignments, manpower, materials, and project priorities.
  • Ensure work meets company safety standards, quality expectations, and applicable electrical codes.
  • Monitor crew productivity and communicate project progress, material needs, and field concerns to leadership.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and assist with resolving jobsite challenges.
  • Train and support less experienced electricians and apprentices.
  • Maintain accurate job documentation and promote a safe, organized work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
