This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing all types of electrical, incidental electronics, and mechanical equipment to achieve program and business objectives in a timely and quality manner. The position requires the ability to read and interpret technical documents, perform preventive maintenance, and maintain a safe work area. Computer skills are necessary for time recording, machine systems, and business instructions. The role also involves identifying opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.

Requirements

  • Must have a Massachusetts Reg. Journeyman Electricians License.
  • Must be able to maintain the certificates, licenses and registrations required for their positions as defined in the qualifications below.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute ratios, percent and interpret graphs. Also, must be able to do trigonometric functions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively with other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to question instructions when they are unclear.
  • Stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and climb stairs and ladders or to use hands to feel; reach with hands and arms; climb and balance; and talk and hear for 8 hours a day.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds without mechanical assistance.
  • Good eye hand coordination and high degree of manual dexterity.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Capable of operating a man lift to a height of 40 feet.
  • Computer skills: Ability to operate various computer programs related to their position for time recording, machine systems and business instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair electrical equipment and installation, modify and/or make repairs to electrical and mechanical parts to correct operational deficiencies.
  • Carry out a preventive maintenance program for equipment involved in accordance with approved instructions.
  • Read, interpret and work to; drawings, schematics, wiring lists and diagrams, work instructions, sketches, work tasks and verbal directions.
  • Perform related duties as required.
  • Set up and maintain workstations and related materials, control of age controlled items and hazardous materials and consumables.
  • May give work direction/training to other employees as assigned.
  • Maintain the work area and perform duties in a safe manner.
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.
