About The Position

This role involves fabricating commercial or military aircraft parts, accessories, and trim according to technical specifications and Work Control Documents. The technician will work with various composite materials such as resins, carbon fiber, bonding, honeycomb fabric, and fiberglass. Attention to detail is crucial throughout the composite process, including crafting, sanding, assembly, clean room etiquette, and operating equipment like the Class A oven, paint booth, and autoclave. The position requires working with composites using pre-preg and wet lay-ups, painting and finishing parts to specifications, and using hand and power tools to produce aircraft products. The technician must be able to follow written instructions precisely and work independently or as part of a team with minimal guidance, learning company-specific procedures for the Composites team. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 0+ years of professional experience in the required task area
  • Relevant composites experience preferred
  • Experience painting in a composite environment
  • Desktop skills
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required
  • Prolonged periods of standing and moving to accomplish workload
  • Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 30 pounds independently, up to 50 pounds with assistance
  • Must follow company safety rules and procedures including, but not limited to, PPE, emergency procedures, and lockout/tagout procedures

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate commercial or military aircraft parts, accessories, and trim in accordance with technical specifications and Work Control Documents
  • Work with a variety of materials, such as resins, carbon fiber, bonding, honeycomb fabric, and fiberglass
  • Demonstrate attention to detail while working with various composite materials in all aspects of the composite process, including: crafting, sanding, assembly, clean room etiquette, class A oven, paint booth and autoclave
  • Work with composites, using pre-preg and wet lay-ups
  • Paint and finish parts to specifications
  • Use hand and power tools to produce aircraft products
  • Work both independently and as part of a team
  • Follow written instructions precisely
  • Follow directions with little to no guidance from management
  • Learn company-specific procedures for Composites team
  • Other duties as assigned
